Melissa Anderson

Melissa A. Anderson focuses her practice on real estate litigation and all aspects of real estate disputes, as well as complex business, commercial, and employment litigation. She has successfully represented clients in federal, state, and appellate courts, arbitrations, and before administrative agencies. Her advocacy has been described as “excellent,” “articulate,” and “forceful.”

Melissa is experienced in all aspects of litigation, from pre-complaint discovery, motions practice, injunctive relief, discovery, retaining experts/developing expert reports, oral argument, trial, post-trial motions, and appeals including before government agencies and arbitration panels. She also helps clients manage the business of litigation, including developing litigation strategy and budgets, risk analysis/mitigation, e-discovery, and vendors.

Melissa works proactively with her clients to avoid the prospect of litigation. This may include conducting internal investigations to assess potential risk, advising clients on compliance issues or recommending best practices, drafting due diligence or compliance procedures, negotiating, drafting, or revising contracts to better protect a client’s assets and legal interests, providing advisory legal opinions, and monitoring the legislative and regulatory landscape for client impact.

She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Virginia, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third and Fourth Circuits and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. She has also been admitted to practice pro hac vice in various state and federal jurisdictions across the United States.
