Mr. Hilkert has more than twenty-five (25) years of professional experience in law, business operations, management consulting and education. Mr. Hilkert is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of PA and State of New Jersey and a licensed Real Estate Agent in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 

Mr. Hilkert’s is Of Counsel to Reidenbach & Associates, joining the firm in May 2009.  His practice focuses primarily on real estate and general business related transactions and litigation.  Much of Mr. Hilkert’s real estate practice deals with the general operation of homeowner and condominium associations and related litigation.  Mr. Hilkert’s practice includes developer and contractor litigation, property and casualty insurance requirements, enforcement of rules and controls and drafting and amending documents, transition from Declarant to homeowner control and assessment collections and construction defect litigation.  Mr. Hilkert also assists with the development of the firm’s strategic plan and provides leadership pertaining to hiring and technology needs.  Reidenbach & Associates, LLC has worked with over 200 homeowners and condominium associations throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. 

Mr. Hilkert’s legal career began as a trial attorney in the Public Defender’s Office of Bucks County Pennsylvania.  From there Mr. Hilkert joined the regional law firm of Hamburg, Rubin, Mullen, Maxwell and Lupin where his practice focused on commercial litigation in state and federal courts.  Mr. Hilkert has also argued cases before the Superior Court and Supreme Court of PA.

Mr. Hilkert’s business experience began with work in the hospitality, industrial distribution and property management industries.  Mr. Hilkert has also consulted with businesses in the areas of strategic planning, organizational development, hiring and selection.  Mr. Hilkert has been a real estate investor, has taught continuing education real estate courses, has served on Boards of Homeowners Associations and has represented individual homeowners, builders, realtors and municipalities as part of his practice of law. Mr. Hilkert was also been a consultant to regional property management firms, which specialize in residential and commercial property management services for homeowner and condominium associations. 

Mr. Hilkert’s practice also includes labor and employment matters such as employment contracts and non-compete matters.

Mr. Hilkert was an Associate Professor at Delaware Valley College where he taught in both the Business Administration and Criminal Justice Departments.  While at Delaware Valley Neil served as the Director of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and was recognized as a Sam Walton Fellow for his work in entrepreneurship education.  Mr. Hilkert was also successful in obtaining a sizable grant from the Coleman Foundation to launch the Small Business Institute (SBI) at the College for the development of programs for small business education and entrepreneurship. In addition to his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Mr. Hilkert earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Communication from Bloomsburg University.  Mr. Hilkert is also a member of Community Associations Institute’s (CAI) Pennsylvania and Delaware Valley Chapter, and 2017 member of the Delaware Valley Chapter’s, Government and Professional Affairs Committee.

Personal

Neil grew up in Danville, Pennsylvania, where his family owns more than 300 acres. Neil resides in Harleysville with his wife Phyllis, a licensed real estate agent, business consultant, and fitness instructor. 

Fun Facts

While in high school and college, Neil earned national recognition in interscholastic and intercollegiate public speaking (Forensic) competitions in debate, impromptu, and extemporaneous speech.  He also performed in 11 theatrical productions.  Neil is aNAUI certified scuba diver and has logged over 50 hours in single engine aircraft pilot training.

Representative matters

  • Created minor subdivision in homeowners’ association allowing the Association to sell a common facility of the Association.

  • Litigated defective sprinkler system installed in Association Clubhouse. Achieved a six-figure settlement for Association.

  • Represented numerous clients in either the purchase or sale of residential property in New Jersey.

  • Quieted Title to real property for several clients in Philadelphia County as a result of a fraudulent transfer that was not of record or chain of title.

  • Represented numerous clients with retail businesses before zoning hearing boards, requesting a special exemptions to allow the use of skill machines in their retail stores.
